It reminds me of a corporate leader who spoke to a group of nonprofits last fall. He suggested that in order to save money, nonprofits will need to cut back on "fluff" in their budgets, like the "fancy board retreat locations". I'm guessing he was talking to a very small percentage of nonprofits. Most boards I hear from, like us, seem to have no such board member perks. In fact, we even ask board members to pay for their own lunch during our board meetings! Thanks for your words here, Laura!
